NEW DELHI: The government has announced the closure of multiple cases stemming from the recent protests, easing tensions across the capital. However, authorities added a strict caveat regarding the extent of this amnesty.
In a press briefing on Thursday morning, officials clarified that individuals involved in explicit violence or destruction of public property will not receive protection under this new directive.
Conditions for Case Closure
"While we respect the democratic right to peaceful protest, we must differentiate between dissent and vandalism," the spokesperson stated. The police have been instructed to review video footage to isolate instigators from the general crowd.
This decision is seen as a strategic move to de-escalate the ongoing political standoff while maintaining a firm stance on law and order.
